A warm welcome has arrived in Point, Isle of Lewis, with the opening of The Lighthouse, the new bar area at Tiumpanhead Community Hub. The stylish addition brings a social heart to the modern multi-purpose community facility, offering locals and visitors a bright, welcoming space to gather.

The bar features a striking stainless-steel counter paired with warm wood panelling, creating a contemporary yet cosy Hebridean feel. Rustic shelving displays glassware and local touches, while string lights, woven wall baskets, and nautical-inspired artwork (including coastal scenes) nod to the area’s maritime heritage near the historic Tiumpanhead Lighthouse. A dedicated serving hatch and practical details complete the inviting setup, perfect for everything from casual drinks to community events.

The Lighthouse is already hosting events such as bar & bingo nights, and it complements the hub’s busy calendar of soup & pudding lunches, themed food evenings (French bistro, tapas, Greek night), craft fairs, and after-parties.

The project was part-funded by the Point and Sandwick Trust and The Stornoway Trust, reflecting strong community investment in local amenities. The trusts’ support helps ensure the hub remains a vibrant focal point for the Point area, fostering connection, culture, and social activity in this stunning corner of Lewis.

Check the Tiumpanhead Community Hub website or Facebook page for opening times and upcoming events.

Slàinte mhath to the team and everyone involved — here’s to many happy gatherings at The Lighthouse!
