Aird Primary School served the local area including the villages of Portvoller, Portnaguran, Broker and Flesherin until it closed its doors for the final time in 2011.
Since closing as a school the grounds and building have been entrusted to the community and is run for the community by a dedicated group of volunteers.
A modern multi-purpose facility and Community Centre acts as a focal point for the local community and the many visitors who come to the area to enjoy this stunning part of the Isle of Lewis.
The site is also home to the Point Agricultural Society who support the very best standards in agriculture, horticulture, forestry and stewardship of the countryside, which is an essential part of our heritage – and our future.
